Review: Clinique Even Better Glow Foundation

So, the truth is I have hated foundation for more years than I have loved it. However, at 39 and with some issues with melasma (the discoloration of skin due to hormones/pregnancy), I have found that I need it. The benefits are clearly visible; it really helps my skin look better. My issue has always been the cakey feel and look, but foundations nowadays continue to get better, and with the improved tools and techniques we have now, those concerns have waned.

There have been a few foundations I’ve been using over the last several months that I have really liked, but when my friend Tillie Cole told me to go try Clinque’s Even Better Glow, I ran to Sephora that very weekend. I was a heavy Clinque user for many years. It was my first skincare line, the first makeup purchases I made as an eager 14 year old. For quite some time later, it was still my go-to line, but somewhere in my thirties I stopped visiting the counter for whatever reason.

Back to it, to the present, an associate swatched the Even Better Glow foundation―their newest makeup incarnation with a subtle radiance―and I was immediately in love. While it touts a light to medium coverage, I was surprised with how much it DID cover. For the last couple weeks, I’ve been wearing it daily (my shade is Ivory) and I love how natural it looks, how much it covers and how it stays put all day long.

There are about 30 shades available and it’s very buildable, should you crave more coverage. The finish is more satin, which I love―not matte and not too shiny. It brings a nice luminosity to your skin.  I also love that it doesn’t feel drying, and that it helps even skin tone over time thanks to Vitamin C. A broad spectrum SPF 15 helps keep you sun safe too.

I’m loving this foundation so much, I had to share with you guys! At $28, it also won’t break the bank!
