Your Go-To Guide: Fall Wardrobe Basics

Fall is such a fun time for fashion with boots, sweaters, scarves, jackets and chunky cardigans. I’ve got your list of go-to basics that you’ll want to use as foundational pieces for your Fall closet.

The Moto Jacket

When it comes to creating a stylish, sophisticated combo, layering is key and nothing is better and easier to thrown on than a moto jacket. It’s functional, flattering and has a great, cool vibe. I have four ready to go for the Fall, from suede to leather, ready to be thrown on at a moment’s notice. If there’s one item to invest in from this list, it’s a moto jacket.

The Everyday Cardigan

Admission: I live in cardigans. Like all the time. Even when it’s warm, I always have a cardigan with me, ready to be slipped on in a cold restaurant or coffee shop. Cardis are essentials for your Fall closet and I’ve linked my personal faves including the long Leith cardigan (shown below), which is finally back in stock!

The Leopard Boot

Leopard print is pretty much a neutral with an edge. It gives an outfit a sexy umph—a double take that’s wonderfully satisfying. Pair this boot with an all-black look, leather (or moto) jacket included, or with some skinny jeans and any fall-hued top. I’ve got options from the affordable to the splurge below.

Your Basic Boot

We all need a few go-to pairs of boots that will coordinate with anything. I like to have a go-to pair in black, gray and tan colors. Here are some of my faves, some which are on sale!

The Ankle Jean

And speaking of go-to boots, pairing them with the right jean is crucial. Ankle jeans are ideal for showcasing your boots, otherwise, you’ll want to find jeans/jeggings with a narrow ankle opening (usually 10″ or less) so you can slide your boot over easily, or fold the hem to ankle height.
