Audiobook Review: One Last Time - Vilma Iris | Lifestyle Blogger

I’m getting really good at cutting my losses.

First, the husband. Divorcing him was the best decision I ever made. But between single-parenting and job-hunting, I can’t catch my breath. When a celebrity blogging position falls into my lap, I’m determined to succeed.

That is, until I get my first assignment and actually see Noah Frazier for the first time…practically naked and dripping wet. My heart races and I forget how to form complete sentences. His chiseled abs, irresistible smirk, and crystal blue eyes are too perfect to be real. So, what do I do? Get drunk and humiliate myself, of course.

I’m ready to forget the awkward night, yet Noah has no intention of allowing me to move on. Instead, he arranges for me to write a feature on him, ensuring a lot more time together. One embarrassing moment after another, one kiss after another, and before I can stop myself, I realize – I’m falling in love with him.

But when the unthinkable happens, can I even blame him for cutting his losses?

What I wouldn’t give for just one last time….

Audiobook Review: One Last Time

“I know that your laugh makes my heart race. The way you smile when you think no one is watching stirs something inside me that makes me desperate for more. The way your entire face lights up when you talk about Finn and Aubrey. I know what it feels like to have you in my arms, touch your lips, and fuck, I’d be lying if I said I’m not wishing for it again. I think about you more than I should. I know that you think you’re weak, but I see a strong, beautiful, and smart woman who deserves a man to worship her. More than any of that, Kristin, I should walk out and let both our lives be a hell of a lot less complicated than trying to start something, but here I am. You’re worth complicating things.”

Sexy, angsty and addictive, this second-chance-at-love romance was so much fun to devour. I listened to ONE LAST TIME by Corinne Michaels on Audible, and it came to life beautifully with narration by the talented Andi Arndt and Sebastian York. They were perfect, and the words lifted off the page, immersing me fully into a story about a woman who stayed too long in a verbally abusive marriage, who certainly never imagined falling for a Hollywood superstar.

After years of being put down by her husband, with suspicions of his infidelity and non-stop criticism, Kristin had finally had enough. She was getting a divorce, walking away from a life she’d hoped would be her happily ever after.

Kristin packed up her kids and left their home, determined to start over and find a job to support them. Surprisingly, she gets hired as a celebrity blogger and her first assignment is to write about heartthrob Noah Frazier.

Trouble is, the first time she sees him, she can barely form a sentence. The day goes south from there and before the night is through, Noah is taking care of her in her drunkenness. Naturally, Kristin is totally shocked when Noah—who could have anyone he wants—decides to pursue her.

“I could love him … If I let myself, it would be so easy.”

It’s messy, it’s complicated, it’s nothing she ever planned for, but he is everything she didn’t realize she wanted and needed. Noah is so different from her ex, everything about them together feels so right, their chemistry is off the charts, and Noah is proving he plans to stick around.

But just as everything is coming together, it all falls apart and Kristin is left all alone, again… unless they can both trust in each other, and what they have, one last time.

There are so many things I loved about this story. We really got to know Kristin—felt how broken she was coming out of her marriage, saw her build herself up again and find her inner confidence and strength as a woman and mother. Noah was sweet and sexy, so perfect for Kristin and her two kids.

“Don’t be anyone else but who you are, Kristin. There’s nothing sexier than a woman who’s confident. Trust me.”

I listened to the book in a day, it’s a fast, addictive romance that’s funny, sexy and poignant at times. A great novel to pick up when you just want to escape and enjoy a fun, swoony romance.
