The Best for Less: $100 Full Skincare Regimen

The Best for Less: $100 Full Skincare Regimen

Taking care of your skin is monumentally important, but it can get expensive fast. I get asked a lot for recommendations for budget skincare, so I thought I’d share a list of some of my favorite products that get the job done, for less.

Here’s a full skincare regimen for less than $100!

Bliss Makeup Melt Jelly Cleanser – $10

Just like the Glossier Jelly Cleanser, this gentle cleanser easily removes makeup, dirt and grime, clearing up impurities on dead skin.

Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum (Day) – $27

Everyone should be using a Vitamin C serum daily. This antioxidant will help protect and treat your skin from sun damage while also helping to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and discoloration. With about 10% Vitamin C, plus Vitamin E, ferulic acid, hyaluronic acid, grapefruit, chamomile extract, clary sage and Konjac root powder (softens and smoothes skin), this is a really effective formulation. The texture is lightweight and absorbs easily into skin.

The Exfoliating Serum is also a great option to add in to your night routine.

The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane – $19

Retinol is still the best treatment we can use. It repairs DNA damage by increasing skin-cell turnover and stimulating collagen. It also helps even skin tone and combats hyperpigmentation and wrinkles. Because it creates a heightened sensitivity to UV, it’s best used at night. If you are not used to using a retinoid, you may first see some slight irritation, but you skin will adapt the more you use it. This 2% retinoid is a good one to start with and as you build up tolerance, you could move to the 5% version, which is the one I have. Squalane will help lock in moisture so it won’t dry you out. If you’re new to retinoids, start using once every other night, then move to once a night.

Garnier Ultra-Lift Anti-Aging Eye Cream – $13

This creamy eye cream is formulated with some great ingredients. Caffeine and rice peptides de-puff and brighten, and over time, retinol derivatives minimize fine lines.

EltaMD UV Daily Facial Sunscreen Broad-Spectrum SPF 40 – $26

Years ago, my dermatologist recommended this moisturizer and it’s worked amazingly well. It offers sun protection and lightweight moisturization and contains hyaluronic acid to give skin the hydration it thirsts for year round. If you have a little more in your budget, you can add in the PM Therapy, which is the same moisturizer optimized for nighttime.

If you have some extra budget, you can add in:

  • Pixi Rose Caviar Essence ($24) – Encapsulated flower oils melt onto the skin to hydrate and restore skin’s brightness. Formulated with antioxidant rich natural oils, this formula will soften, refine and tone.
  • Mad Hippie Exfoliating Serum ($28) – Helps reduce the appearance of discoloration and wrinkles with its alpha hydroxy acid-based serum. Formulated with glycolic acid, lactic acid, apple stem cells (reduces appearance of fine lines), gigawhite (boosts radiance), super-antioxidant rich goji berry, white tea and more.
  • Elta MD PM Therapy ($32) – Oil-free, nighttime moisturizer that improves the appearance of skin. This ceramide- and peptide-enhanced formula provides antioxidants and niacinamide for a smoother, fresher appearance.

In romances, if your characters are infertile, they don't need miracle pregnancy to have a happy ending. Nor does your plus size heroine need to lose a weight, your disabled character be "cured" or your plain character become hot.

Let your characters find happiness as they are.

Best. News. Everrrrrr!!!! Huge congratulations, @KylieScottbooks !!! 😘😘😘

Some people ask: Why would you impeach and convict a president who has only a few days left in office? The answer: Precedent. It must be made clear that no president, now or in the future, can lead an insurrection against the U.S. government.
