18 Books To Look Forward To The First Half Of 2018

I don’t know about you, but I can hardly wait for some of the amazing 2018 releases. It was insanely difficult to pick 18 of the many, but wanted to share some of my most anticipated in the first half of this new year! Tell me in the comments which books you are looking forward to the most!

  • The Wife Between Us

Fans of twisty psychological thrillers with misleading narratives a la Gone Girl are in for a treat with this story about an ex-wife stalking her replacement—a pretty lookalike living the life she thought she’d live ‘til death us do part. There is a ton of buzz already and I thought it was a solid suspense with surprises aplenty, some which I did not see coming at all!

  • Keep Her Safe

K.A. Tucker ups her suspense game with this latest. Twisty, fast-paced with some great plot twists, it was difficult for me to put this book down. The narrative follows the son of a police chief who committed suicide as he partners with the daughter of a disgraced, murdered officer, in search of what really happened years back—a series of events that lead to his death, her suicide and many a secret hidden by the Austin PD.

  • Look For Me

The home of a family of five is now a crime scene: four of them savagely murdered, one—a sixteen-year-old girl—missing. Was she lucky to have escaped? Or is her absence evidence of something sinister?

Lisa Gardner is an auto-buy author for me, so when it comes to her new novels, they are always on my most anticipated list. She’ll hook me every time with ratcheting tension, intricate mysteries, clever twists and sharp police procedural elements. Her newest takes us on a ride as they search for a missing sixteen-year-old girl.

  • The Queen’s Rising

“Grave Mercy meets Red Queen” in this epic fantasy debut by Rebecca Ross. I’m reading this now and I’m riveted. Inspired by Renaissance France, we meet Brienna, a girl with a passion for knowledge who binds herself to a mysterious lord in efforts to overthrow a cruel king and put a queen on the throne and restore magic to the realm.

  • The Lucky Ones

Tiffany Reisz is one of my favorite authors and her last two novels have been top faves. This latest is a gothic suspense novel about a girl returning home to face her past, and figuring out if one of her siblings tried to kill her years back while living in a beach house owned by a famed philanthropist and brain surgeon.

  • Surprise Me

When it comes to those unputdownable, compulsively readable reads, I can always count on Sophie Kinsella to deliver. This new witty, emotional novel explores what happens when a married couple decides to bring fun surprises into their marriage to keep things fresh and unpredictable… trouble is, they uncover some shocking truths that shake their union.

  • Rough Ride

We’re going back to the Chaos Motorcycle Club and I can hardly wait! This is Rosalie and Snap’s story—one of finding trust in each other as trouble brews around them.

  • Hello Stranger

It’s Lisa Kleypas, so anything she puts out is an automatic addition to my list. It’s a literal joy to read her novels, especially her historical romances. If you know and love the Ravenels (like I do), this is Dr. Garrett Gibson’s time to find love. The blurb touts “a scintillating tale of an unconventional beauty who finds passion with the spy who can’t resist her.”
    Sign me up!

  • High Voltage

The Fever series continues with this new, exciting, highly anticipated installment featuring Dani, Ryodan and more from this world we’ve all come to love so much. Armed with the epic Sword of Light, Dani and Ryodan battle to save the world—consequences ushered in after the Song of the Making healed the world. Here’s to hoping for some good payoff on the romantic side of things too!

  • Obsidio

I have deep love for this innovative, exciting, edge-of-your-seat sci-fi series and the finale is finally upon us! Kady, Ezra, Hanna, and Nik are back, and together with newcomers Asha and Rhys, a new adventure takes shape on Kerenza.

  • Sometimes I Lie

I feel like there is little to say on this one after reading the chilling blurb (below). I cannot wait to dive into my copy.

My name is Amber Reynolds. There are three things you should know about me:
    1. I’m in a coma.
    2. My husband doesn’t love me anymore.
    3. Sometimes I lie.

Amber wakes up in a hospital. She can’t move. She can’t speak. She can’t open her eyes. She can hear everyone around her, but they have no idea. Amber doesn’t remember what happened, but she has a suspicion her husband had something to do with it. Alternating between her paralyzed present, the week before her accident, and a series of childhood diaries from twenty years ago, this brilliant psychological thriller asks: Is something really a lie if you believe it’s the truth?

  • Love And Other Words

Christina Lauren makes a foray into women’s fic with this latest and I’m looking forward to reading the book, seeing how their talented voice takes shape in this genre. The story centers around a woman who runs into her old flame and her carefully constructed life suddenly comes into question.

  • Traitor Born

Amy Bartol is back with the sophomore installment in this addictive sci-fi series about one girl’s journey to create her own destiny, despite being a secondborn who is seen as property of the government.

  • War Storm

We’re three books into this series and it’s been quite the adventure, and so I’m looking forward to seeing what awaits for Mare, Cal, Maven and crew in this highly anticipated fourth installment.

  • Reaper At The Gates

The second book in this series was rife with game-changing surprises and I’m dying to get my hands on Reaper to see what happens next, as war looms in the Empire.

  • Smoke In The Sun

I’m so excited to see what Renee Ahdieh has in store for us with the follow up to the sumptuous fantasy adventure, Flame In The Mist.

  • More Than Words

If it’s Mia Sheridan, I’m looking forward to it… and this one is a second-chance romance… my fave! This is a story of two people, from two different worlds, finding each other once again.

  • Providence

When I heard Caroline Kepnes was writing a supernatural thriller, well, I was all in from the get-go. I never know what to expect with her books and so this release feels all the more exciting.
