Fall and Winter are my favorite times of year and from my perspective, the absolute best time to play with style. I’m really loving what’s in lately and cannot wait for cooler temps to hit and longline jackets to be slipped on. These are some of the trends that I’m loving that feel less transitory, and more timeless for your closet collection.
Studded detail is back and more prominent than ever, especially in shoes and denim. Along the same lines, big statement embellishment from hair jewels to actual jewelry will be very in this season.
Red continues to dominate from Spring and Summer into Fall, but this season, we’re deepening the go-to shade to oxblood and dark burgundys and cherry reds.
Like every Fall, but more so lately, leopard continues to be the go-to statement neutral. In a lot of outfits, a leopard/animal print can add that much-needed tension in an outfit to set your style apart.
Along with those deep reds, greens—especially olives—are the it colors of the season. It’s especially fun to explore unexpected color combinations, which is a trend within itself, to create unique looks.
The barn jacket is making a comeback this Fall, contributing to the effortless, cozy look that reigns in cooler temps. It’s particularly fun to pair with a dress, or again, an unexpected bottom like a skirt, or something more feminine to be counterpoint to the more structured, somewhat masculine look of the barn jacket silhouette.
Suede is always in during Fall and Winter, but just like denim-on-denim looks continue to trend, all-suede fits will be turning heads. Or, throw on a suede trench, which feels to be the IT item of the season!
This is of course my favorite trend of all. I love that bag charms allow for self expression, sharing a little bit of who you are and what you love. The trick is to layer in pieces of different sizes and textures, and more than anything, have fun with it!
