Review: Blood Fury - Vilma Iris | Lifestyle Blogger

In this sexy paranormal romance novel set in the world of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1 New York Times bestselling author J. R. Ward tells the story of two couples—both fighting to find love in the midst of the war with the Lessening Society.

A vampire aristocrat, Peyton is well aware of his duty to his bloodline: mate with an appropriate female of his class and carry on his family’s traditions. And he thought he’d found his perfect match—until she fell in love with someone else. Yet when his split-second decision in a battle with the enemy endangers the life of another trainee, Peyton has to face the idea that his future, and his heart, actually lie with another.

Novo, as a female in the Black Dagger Brotherhood’s training program, feels like she has to prove herself to everybody—and she has no interest in being distracted by falling in love. But when Peyton proves to be so much more than a rich playboy, she is forced to confront the tragedy that has broken her soul and closed her off from love.

As the two grapple with Novo’s past and Peyton’s present, another couple must contend with a connection that is unparalleled—and potentially scandalous. Saxton, who has had his heart broken, discovers in himself a deep-seated attraction to Ruhn, a new member of the household. But will the other male explore the connection? Or will he close his mind and his heart to what could be true love . . . and cost Saxton everything?

Blood Fury
By J.R. Ward

Review: Blood Fury

J.R. Ward’s latest, BLOOD FURY, imparts a story of reluctant love as two trainees fight their intensifying attraction.

Novo and Peyton couldn’t be more different from each other. The last thing Novo wants is a relationship—she promised herself she’d never get close to a male again, especially not an aristocratic blond playboy like Peyton. It’s clear he’s still hung up on Paradise, and Novo wouldn’t play second fiddle to anyone, whether the heart was involved or not.

But there’s more to Peyton, son of Peythone, than meets the eye. A storm has been brewing behind closed doors and Peyton can’t stand the confinement of his gilded cage. He’s a bomb ticking down, and the one battle he can’t fight any longer is his desire for the tough, intensely private Novo, who secretly contends with her own internal strife.

In their rage, in the chaos of their own emotional maelstrom, they find a rightness with each other that’s surprising. A rightness they dismiss over and over again, every time they come crashing into each other. But without divulging their truths, without reconciling their pasts and confronting those who’ve scarred them, what they have will never take flight.

Meanwhile, we see another coupling (Sexton and Ruhn) that is perhaps even more satisfying, more poignant than the lead. Another story of seemingly opposites colliding together, longing to find a fit, a home, in one another.

I loved being back in the volatile world of the brothers, loved seeing two more couples find their happiness, loved seeing such a strong heroine in Novo too. I will say that while this third installment didn’t pack a huge punch, it was still really enjoyable to read.
