Current Fall Decor Faves

Current Fall Decor Faves

It’s getting to be my favorite time of year—FALL—the weather just needs to seriously catch up and cool down! But indoors, I’m craving that cozy Fall vibe and getting ready for the holidays.

I usually start Fall decorating September 1st, then Halloween October 1st, but this year, I was feeling the vibe a little earlier and started to pull out some of my favorite spooky items.

I’ve been trying to pair down what I have out, so the house looks clean and curated, with less stuff all over the place. For years, I’ve held onto things because of the memories they hold, because they were special when my boys were little, but it’s time to part with some of those things because storage is a serious issue living in a smaller house… and plus, I sort of love the idea of refreshing a few of those items to more sophisticated pieces.

As you start to pull out some of your Fall decor, I thought I’d share a few of my favorite Fall & Halloween pieces to get you inspired to get in the mood!

Fall for me is all about texture and coziness. Chunky throws, sweater pillows, super soft chenille, velvet, plaids and warmer palettes. Candles, pumpkins and pine cones. Decorative touches that speak to the season. The first thing I do is switch out pillow covers (and btw, these are my favorite pillow inserts – totally soft & karate-choppable!). I stick to a pretty neutral palette of creamy whites, warm grays with perhaps a touch of amber. I own all the pillows below, but my faves are the fringed velvet pillows. They are divine.

I am admittedly not the biggest Halloween fan, but I adore the decor, especially since I approached it with a more vintagey vibe. I do black and whites and avoid anything too kitschy. I also think about texture as I’m layering items into the space. By the way, featured in the pic above is my new favorite Bath & Body Works candle: Spiced Chestnut. It seriously makes the entire house smell amazing. My other go-to is Spiced Cinammon Vanilla. I stocked up this weekend during the sale!

Happy decorating!
