I love how Sager once again took a familiar setup and made it his own. In this story, an actress heads to her family lake house after an alcoholic binge. Across the lake she spies on a former model and her techie husband, who aren’t the glamorous couple everyone expects. When the wife vanishes, the story spirals in ways unforeseen, culminating in a big-twist finale.

It’s feels like way too long since we’ve taken

It’s feels like way too long since we’ve taken on some home projects and we’re about to get going finally! The mini kitchen makeover starts Monday—switching out backsplash ◻️◻️◻️, building new hood and ordering a new oven (which will take months to arrive), but so excited! We’ll also be upgrading all the downstairs floor right after the kitchen project, and I’m hoping I can finally get my moody floral wallpaper up in the powder bath soon after that. Things about to get chaotic ;) This weekend we’re starting on sprucing up the backyard too—plants, garden and cleanup—as we move into Spring & Summer. I love this stuff 🖤 Are you all starting any 🏠 projects soon???

We didn’t have much time to explore Sofia, Bulgaria (other than our late-night dinners), but so thankful we had an hour to explore St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. Unbelievable. This Orthodox cathedral was opener in 1912 and built in Neo-Byzantine style. It’s one of the 50 largest Catholic Churches in the world.

THE NIGHT SHIFT by @AlexFinlayAuthor is out tomorrow and I'm sharing my spoiler-free review is #ontheblog! I loved his book EVERY LAST FEAR, and knew I had to read this next one, especially after I read the premise.

The story opens with the brutal murder on New Year's Eve 1999—four teen girls working the night shift are attacked at a Blockbuster—three are killed and only one makes it out alive. Fast forward fifteen years and there's another murder in the same town. More girls are killed and again, only one teen girl makes it out alive.

With twists and turns aplenty, and a bit of a 90s nostalgia, Finlay takes us on quite the thrill ride in this multi-perspective, propulsive thriller. It's the kind of book you can't help but binge and I really loved it. Read more about the book and what to expect by heading to {vilmairis.com}.

Next 🏠 project: kitchen mini makeover ◻️ We’re switching out the backsplash and building a new vent hood using the same tile. For the past year, I’ve been going back and forth about whether we should do the project, and what shape of tile, what color, and ultimately decided to do it. We’re so excited! Opted for zellige tile in Weathered White—I love rustic, handmade look, the warmer, non-uniform tones (hard to tell in pic) and think it will pair well with our charcoal cabinets. Will hopefully get started in the next few weeks 🤞🏻 #staytuned

The second #FinlayDonovan book is out now—I read the first one (FINLAY DONOVAN IS KILLING IT) on a whim and it was so funny! Anyone else read it too? 🙋🏻‍♀️

Essentially the stories center on a struggling single mom of two who gets herself in these impossible, stressful situations. Can’t wait to dig into this one: FINLAY DONOVAN KNOCKS ‘EM DEAD 👇🏻

Finlay Donovan is—once again—struggling to finish her next novel and keep her head above water as a single mother of two. On the bright side, she has her live-in nanny and confidant Vero to rely on, and the only dead body she’s dealt with lately is that of her daughter’s pet goldfish.

Tense, terrifying, and totally absorbing.
