I’m so excited to feature author Rebecca Yarros on the blog today and spotlight her New Adult romance, Full Measures, which was released earlier this year. I’ve got a character interview with our male protagonist and hockey star, Josh Walker, plus up for grabs is a signed copy of Full Measures too!

Synopsis

full measures coverShe knew. That’s why Mom hadn’t opened the door. She knew he was dead.

Twenty years as an army brat and Ember Howard knew, too. The soldiers at the door meant her dad was never coming home. What she didn’t know was how she would find the strength to singlehandedly care for her crumbling family when her mom falls apart.

Then Josh Walker enters her life. Hockey star, her new next-door neighbor, and not to mention the most delicious hands that insist on saving her over and over again. He has a way of erasing the pain with a single look, a single touch. As much as she wants to turn off her feelings and endure the heartache on her own, she can’t deny their intense attraction.

Until Josh’s secret shatters their world. And Ember must decide if he’s worth the risk that comes with loving a man who could strip her bare.

Interview with Josh Walker

Hiya peeps! I’m Rebecca Yarros, author of Full Measures and the upcoming Eyes Turned Skyward, and I have Josh Walker here with me for a few questions!

Josh: Happy to be here.

Rebecca: So first off, what attracted you most about Ember?

Josh: Ember has an irresistible, quiet strength. Sure, she’s gorgeous, but it’s her selflessness, her ability to do what’s right for those she loves that I find incredibly beautiful.

Rebecca: Being that she is gorgeous, and you’ve had feelings for her since high school, how did you manage to restrain yourself at the cabin?

Josh: Cold shower. No, just kidding. I think when you’re concentrating on what someone else really needs, it’s easier to put your own wants aside. Besides, I’d waited that long to get my hands on her, I wasn’t going to blow it by taking advantage of her.

Rebecca: What scares you the most about being in a relationship with Ember?

Josh: Screwing it up.

Rebecca: Given what you’ve already said, I have a hard time thinking you’d screw it up.

Josh: We all keep secrets, don’t we? Sometimes they’re big, and sometimes they’re small, but they all have the ability to wreck you, to wreck the ones we love.

Rebecca: Then why do you keep them?

Josh: Same answer – scared to screw this up with Ember.

Rebecca: So other than Ember, what brings you the greatest joy?

Josh: That one’s easy – hockey. There are few things better than feel of the ice, or scoring.  I’m able to tune out the world and just… be.

Rebecca: So how do you feel about Jagger getting his own book?

Josh: (Laughing) Oh, I’m all for it. I’m happy to sit back and watch him fall on his ass over a girl, as long as she’s the right girl.

Rebecca: And is Ember your right girl?

Josh: She’s the only girl. The only one I’ll ever want.

Rebecca: Thank you so much for answering some questions!

Josh: Anytime.

About Rebecca

rebecca yarrosRebecca Yarros is a hopeless romantic and lover of all things chocolate, coffee, and Paleo. In addition to being a mom, military wife, and blogger, she can never choose between Young Adult and New Adult fiction, so she writes both. She’s a graduate of Troy University, where she studied European history and English, but still holds out hope for an acceptance letter to Hogwarts. Her blog, The Only Girl Among Boys, has been voted the Top Military Mom Blog the last two years, and celebrates the complex issues surrounding the military life she adores.

When she’s not writing, she’s tying on hockey skates for her kids, or sneaking in some guitar time. She is madly in love with her army-aviator husband of eleven years, and they’re currently stationed in Upstate NY with their gaggle of rambunctious kiddos and snoring English Bulldog, but she would always rather be home in Colorado.

Rebecca is represented by Jamie Bodnar Drowley of Inklings Literary.
