This heartwarming story centers on close-knit friends facing the growing pains of their relationships, and is explored through the perspective of two of those friends breaking up ahead of their annual vacation in Maine. Loved this romantic thriller by @kristenashleybooks—the second (standalone) installment in the Misted Pines series. The story opens when an FBI agent tracks a murderer to small-town Misted Pines, and in the process becomes far more entangled than expected. As he investigates the details of the latest murder, something isn’t quite right, and he must partner with locals like Cade Bohannan and the victim’s employer, Lucinda (Cin) Bonner to untangle what’s really at play… especially since danger still lurks in the shadows.

A writing retreat spirals into a horrific nightmare for a group of writers in this thriller that’s out today! The story centers on a woman (Alex) who gets invited to a writing retreat hosted by the enigmatic author she idolizes. It’s the opportunity of a lifetime except her once BFF is also going and they had a huge, public falling out. Determined to rise above it, Alex decides to attend, but once she arrives to the remote estate, she quickly realizes the retreat is more of a cutthroat competition with seven-figure deal at play. Then everything begins to unravel when one of the attending writers vanishes…

Alex fears they may all be in trouble, but they’re trapped by a snowstorm, with no WiFi or cell service.

This book was surprising in the best way. The gothic atmosphere, the nuanced characters, the tension and threads of horror, all contributed to the immersiveness and unpredictability of the novel. I couldn't put it down and can’t recommend it to you guys enough!

I have been so thrilled with my 2023 reads thus far and this thriller by Kate Alice Marshall continued the momentum. This story is about three eleven-year-old girls who send a murderer to prison, after one of them is stabbed seventeen times.

Twenty-two years later, their past resurfaces when the perpetrator dies in prison and a podcaster starts asking questions. The women must face the lies they told even if it means beckoning danger once again.

The book is a very haunting, layered, unflinching tale of friendship, betrayal, trauma and grief, and it packs so many twists along the way.

I’ve been really focused on evening out skin tone and achieving that super glowy look, which is really all about hydration, and so important especially for women my age and older. Have you read it??? Hell Bent was one of my most anticipated reads this year and it so delivered. If you’re not familiar with this series, Hell Bent is Leigh Bardugo’s second installment in her dark academia/fantasy series (the first book is Ninth House) about magical secret societies at Yale.

(Stop 🛑 here if you’ve not read book 1)

In this latest, Galaxy “Alex” Sterns descends into Hell to steal Darlington’s soul. Ill equipped and without resources and permission, Alex—now Virgil of Lethe—plots with Pamela Dawes (Oculus) to find a portal to Hell and conspire to save Darlington. As Alex and Dawes assemble tremulous allies for such a quest, Yale faculty begins to mysteriously die off, and Alex’s criminal past resurges.

There were so many aspects I loved about this novel. I loved the interplay between Alex’s street-crime underworld and Yale’s entitled secret-society magic. The just-right humor that effervesced the situational gravity. Alex’s willingness to do anything and everything for those she cares about, and how they too show up for her. But most of all, I loved Bardugo’s abundant imagination and vivid worldbuilding, and how these well-drawn, complex characters bring it all to life.

The stakes are high, the monsters, formidable, the magic, grisly, and the story, deeply human in this must-read sequel. And as with the first book, we end on a cliffhanger and I am already (desperately) clamoring for more.

This gothic fairy tale was a 2023 favorite before I even finished reading it. Beautifully written, haunting, and rippling with an otherworldly magic that kept me mesmerized, Roshani Chokshi once again delivers a story which will stay with me for awhile. The novel introduces us to a scholar and an enigmatic heiress, as their marriage begins to collapse under the weight of her dark secrets. When they married, the only stipulation was that he wouldn't pry into her past, but when they travel to her childhood home (the House of Dreams), he learns about her best friend that vanished when they were teens. Gradually, the house begins to whisper of transgressions past, unearthing what once transpired between two young girls who forged a world glimmering with magic, promises and play.

Reality and fantasy blur in this book that I loved so much and I can't recommend it enough. I've been a devoted fan of Roshani (and her poetic writing) since her debut (The Star-Touched Queen) and she continues surpass my every expectation with each novel she pens. This one is out Valentine's Day, so make sure to pre-order!

We alternate between past and present storylines to understand what happened in 1974, as we ferret out what is happening in present day between these two best friends.

Themes of friendship, betrayal, jealously, suspicion, creation, and fame all tumble together in this extraordinary thriller “inspired by Fleetwood Mac, the Manson murders, and the infamous summer Percy and Mary Shelley spent with Lord Byron.”

Good things come to those who wait ✨
More than 9 months after we ordered our @hallmanusa range, it finally arrived and was installed this week and we couldn’t love it more. I wanted an oven that was a little more of a statement piece and loved the look of this Italian one. It’s a dual fuel range (gas stovetop + electric oven) in a matte graphite color with brass hardware, and it looks so pretty in our (small) space.

As we kick off the year, working on our project list for 2023. Definitely want to finish a couple wallpaper projects & perhaps this is the year to give our laundry room a makeover. I’ve actually had my design for it for over a year 🤞🏻
