Review: NARS Velvet Lip Glides

Review: NARS Velvet Lip Glides

NARS recently came out with five new shades in their VELVET LIP GLIDES and after seeing the colors, I had to give them a try. The colors run on the rose and dusty mauve spectrum, which are my favorite shades to wear and ideal year-round. I also have and love BOUND (soft rose pink) and these new shades have the same vibe. The glides are $26 each.

All the lip glides tout a satin finish and feel light and non-drying, while having pretty good lasting power. They’re supposed to glide like a gloss but offer coverage like a lipstick. You still have to re-apply midday, I’d say, but the color is rich with a little bit of shine and really beautiful.

The formula is developed with precious oils to create a smooth, moisturizing glide, while an infusion of water lily flowers and white tea extract offer antioxidant protection and hydration.

The new shades are:

  • ROSELAND – rose blush
  • SWING – neutral rose
  • XENON – dusty mauve
  • PARADISE GARAGE – soft plum
  • MARS – warm brown

I love all the colors, it would be hard for my to pick a fave, although I’ve been wearing PARADISE GARAGE and ROSELAND most perhaps. I didn’t pick up MARS because I usually don’t wear browns. Also, I feel like ROSELAND and BOUND are similar, with ROSELAND looking like a deeper rose. XENON and SWING are somewhat similar, but on, they look a bit more different with XENON looking more mauvy.

If you are a fan of this shade range, you really can’t go wrong with any one of these. I love how light they feel, how they have a little sheen to them, but most of all, these colors are just so pretty and versatile!
