My Thoughts

Utterly addictive.
An amazing sequel to a story infused with angst, sexiness, drama and romance. I love this series!

My Review

This book did not disappoint.  The story begins 3 weeks after the cliffhanger conclusion of the first book, Fallen Too Far. I don’t want to include spoilers, but you are immediately thrown back in to the stress, angst and insecurity that is the relationship between Rush Finlay and Blaire Wynn.

A plot twist at the beginning dictates the direction of the story line and takes you for a ride. There are significant ups and downs throughout, that although you are rooting for Rush and Blaire, keeps you questioning if they can put aside their insecurities and surpass their flaws to give them a real shot at a relationship. While FTF (book 1) propelled them into an all-consuming, fast-paced relationship that sent you *happily* reeling, NTF, takes the time to further explore the difficulties of them coming together.

“Our relationship had been short. Intense and brief. I wondered what it would have felt like to have the freedom to curl up in Rush’s arms anytime I wanted. To know I was safe and that he loved me. We’d never had that chance.”

Rush makes mistakes… many of them… that build doubt in Blaire’s mind. It was crushing to read through it sometimes. Blaire continues to think she doesn’t fit into Rush’s world and that he’ll continue to put his family, namely Nan, first. But Rush insists…

“No. One. Comes. Before. You.”

And despite Rush’s mistakes, you gotta love that he owned up to them each time. That’s what’s so great about him. He’s flawed, but relentless in his love for Blaire. There were times in the book I felt like I wanted to scream at them, to get over it and just be!!! (Reminded me of how I felt reading Crush by Nicole Williams) But then again, they are young, in love and in a relationship that hasn’t had the sturdiest of foundations. But you know they are meant to be together and they need to push through it!!!! And as many times as Rush messes up, you wholeheartedly feel the intensity of his love for Blaire. And that ladies, is what makes Rush so swoon-worthy!!!!

“No man has ever loved a woman as much as I love you.”

I also loved reading about Bethy, Woods and even Cain. By the end of the book, you are happy, but left wanting. I had hoped that there was an Epilogue, but I’m hoping Abbi Glines gives them a book 3. I feel like the story isn’t complete yet… I want so much more. I’d like a coming together for Nan and Blaire. And what about Blaire’s father??? Not who I thought he was! Luckily for us readers, Abbi posted on facebook today that if she gets 500 reviews on Amazon, she’ll write a bonus chapter and Epilogue! ANNNNDDDD… if it hits #1 on Amazon, she’ll write a third book! So fingers crossed and download the damn book!!!

Overall, such a great book to read! Just like the story, it’s intense, you can’t help but devour the book just to see what happens.

I really liked this book but I believe the story had more potential, more to tell. It did not make my heart race as the first book.
