Synopsis

Tabitha Allen grew up in the thick of Chaos–the Chaos Motorcycle Club, that is. Her father is Chaos’ leader, and the club has always had her back. But one rider was different from the start. When Tabby was running wild, Shy Cage was there. When tragedy tore her life apart, he helped her piece it back together. And now, Tabby’s thinking about much more than friendship…

Tabby is everything Shy’s ever wanted, but everything he thinks he can’t have. She’s beautiful, smart, and as his friend’s daughter, untouchable. Shy never expected more than friendship, so when Tabby indicates she wants more–much more–he feels like the luckiest man alive. But even lucky men can crash and burn…

My Review

“So promise me, right now, my dick still inside you, you naked on top of me in bed, us sharing what we just shared, us having a taste of what it’s like apart and knowin’ we’re better together, you won’t leave me.”

Yup, so for me, this was a rockin’ welcome to Kristen Ashley!!! I am no KA expert, but this book is what I expected and nothing like what I expected at the same time. I knew her books would be really cool and feature super alphas, but experiencing them is something else! Her book, her writing, just has a different feel to it. I may or may not have felt cooler just by reading it 🙂 I can’t wait to read her other books!

So Own The Wind is book 1 in the Chaos series. Tabitha “Tabby” Allen is the daughter of Tack Allen, president of the Chaos Motorcycle Club. These are a bunch of, er… badass… motorcycle dudes. Tabby has been veering off the right path, flirting with trouble a little too often.

Parker “Shy” Cage gets a “Tabby call-out” one night, which means he’s got to go get her out of trouble stat. Immediately we notice there’s an undercurrent of something there. Shy, however, is super harsh with Tabby when he tries to steer her in the right direction. There’s no love lost between them at that point and Tabby is hurt after Shy’s words. And even though, there’s a pull between them, so many things prevent them from getting together. For one, Shy is infamous for his womanizing ways and secondly, Tabby is big-time off-limits as Tack’s daughter.

For years, there are a series of miscommunications and bad experiences that keep them apart, even keep them from talking. Then, tragedy strikes, and Shy is there for Tabby in just the perfect way.

“You need a safe place just to forget shit and escape, I’ll give it to you. Tonight. Tomorrow. Next week. Next month. That safe place is me, Tabby.”

As they get together, I absolutely fell in love with the off-the-charts chemistry they had. Shy is so totally the kick-ass alpha male, a respected brother in Chaos… but he’s honest, direct and makes it clear that he loves his woman. Tabby continues to navigate the direction of her life after the tragedy that changed it all, but things feel natural and right with Shy. They come from the same world, and they totally and completely “get” each other.

“Know this, Tabby, I lose you, it would be sixty years of goin’ through the motions. I know that in my dick. I know it in my gut. I know it in my heart. I know it deep down in my goddamned soul”

I loved both characters. They are both strong individually, standing up to what they each believe. Despite being the alpha that he is, Shy always makes sure to tell Tabby how he feels and how things are. And Tabby, is not afraid to speak up and defend herself or her man. She inspires Shy to dream, to love, to hope for more.

“I never dreamed any fuckin’ dream,” he whispered, and the smile faded from her face as tears filled her eyes.
She understood him.
“Shy-”
“Didn’t dream it, saw it, waited my time, and then you gave it to me.”

Of course, things get complicated and a whole set of problems emerge. This book is just so engaging and sexy and all-around HOT! LOVED it! I can’t wait to keep reading the books in this series as well. Book 2 is Fire Inside and comes out June 4th! Definitely pick this one up!
