Subject: You’re a flippin’ idiot

Good morning my dear, naive friend,

I hope you’re enjoying a breakfast of regret and sorrow.

Why?

Because you sent me to work for Dean Harper, aka a control freak in a tailor-made suit. Sure he owns the trendiest restaurants in NYC, but c’mon Jo, his ego makes Kanye West look like the Dalai Lama.

He’s the type of guy that only hears the word “no” when it’s followed by “don’t stop.”

Working for Dean Harper would be like selling my soul to the devil…and before you say anything, I don’t care if the devil has punch-you-in-the-gut brown eyes and an ass to match. My soul isn’t for sale.

Love,
Regretfully yours,
Lily

My Review

There’s something special that makes reading R.S. Grey’s books so much fun. They put me in the greatest mood as I laugh and swoon over her character’s romantic escapades. Dean Harper’s story was as delightfully fun as Julian Lefray’s, but it ratchets up the tension—big time—as antagonism prevails in this enemies to lovers story.

We’ve met both Dean and Lily before. Dean is Julian’s best friend and Lily is Jo’s. Jo has just moved to New York City to give her career in the restaurant business a go, and Dean is the city’s top restauranteur.

An unfailing workaholic, Dean is driven and content with a fast-paced life free of romantic entanglements. He’s got enough women warming his bed to keep him happy (to the dismay of his family).

“You’re thirty-three years old, Dean. When are you going to settle down? Start a family?”

“Uh, never. Is that too soon? How about never plus infinity.”

He’s ornery and broody, and used to getting his way. He’s likes being in control.

Enter Lily Black who thrives on a challenge and is not the kind of girl to be pushed-over. It’s her first night at Provisions, a new restaurant in the city, and she’s proving herself by expertly flinging drinks behind the bar. She becomes the highlight of the night, successfully working the bar and its patrons, until her hubristic, but well-intentioned demeanor collides with the churlish, all-controlling attitude of Dean Harper.

“I hate you,” she said through clenched teeth. I smiled sardonically.

Dean and Lily clash in an epic battle of wills. Over and over and over again to the dismay of BFFs Julian and Jo. Complicated gets way more complicated every time they’re together.

“He pushed, I pushed back. He didn’t want an insipid Barbie. He wanted a challenge, but he kept denying it, so things between us would never change.”

Truth is, amidst all that hate, there’s also an intensifying attraction, which only fuels their verbal warfare as their physical restraint falters. They are both talented, both stubborn, and both falling for each other (though neither want to admit it). But even as they begin to act upon those feelings, everything else flies out of control. Could they ever see eye-to-eye to find themselves some happy?

Charming, witty, sexy and fun, The Allure of Dean Harper is a light-hearted story easily devoured. I read it in a single night and enjoyed it tremendously. Great banter, likeable characters and delicious tension make this book irresistible.

About R.S. Grey

I am a lover of books, chocolate, reality TV, black labs, and cold weather. Seriously, if I had it my way, I would be curled up on the couch with all of those things… everyday.

I live in Texas where I spend my free time writing and reading. My favorite authors include Mindy Kaling & Jonathan Safran Foer. I’m a comedy geek and love all things “funny”. Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.

I’m loving this! I knew I would, since it’s by R.S. Grey and all… I was lucky enough to win an ARC from her and it couldn’t have come at a better time. Dean and Lily are so mean and hateful to each other, which makes their chemistry POP whenever they give into their real desires.

Well, I am looking for books similar to this one! And yes, I have already read The Allure of Julian Lefray, The Design and The Duet! So, I guess, you can say I was (am) a bit obsess with R S GREY. Please recommend me some books similar to this!
