My Thoughts

Sexy. Seductive. Smoking HOT!
Get ready to swoon because you will be falling hard for rock god Jake Wethers! This is rock star romance at its best… a well-developed story line  full of emotion, romance and drama. I loved it!

Synopsis

the mighty storm coverA rock-and-roll love triangle…a music journalist’s story of a lifetime…the bad boy front man who broke her heart.

Tru Bennett was just fourteen years old when her best friend and first love, Jake Wethers, moved from England to America and left her brokenhearted. Now twelve years later, Jake is the world’s biggest rock star, lead singer of The Mighty Storm and every woman’s bad-boy fantasy. Every woman, that is, except Tru.

A successful music journalist, Tru knows better than to mix business with pleasure. But then she receives the assignment of a lifetime: interview Jake before his band launches its highly anticipated world tour. Tru vows to keep the meeting strictly professional—but nothing can prepare her for the sparks that fly the moment their eyes meet again.

Now Jake wants Tru to join the band on tour, offering her a behind-the-scenes exclusive that any journalist would kill for. There’s just one problem: Tru’s boyfriend, Will. Can their relationship withstand Tru hitting the road with rock and roll’s most notorious womanizer? Or will she risk it all for a second chance with the one who got away?

My Review

“Men want to be him, woman want to screw him… most wanting to be the one to tame the untameable Jake Wethers.”

This book ROCKS! Favorite rockstar romance ever! From the time I first picked it up, I never put it down until I read the last line. Unputdownable! It may my heart race, fluster and certainly swoon, it made me happy, it made me sad, and it even made me want to go buy cake at almost midnight 🙂

I LOVVVVEEEDDD this book! Why? Well, one, I actually thought the story line was pretty fresh. This is about a girl and a boy who were best friends growing up.

“Jake and I were best friends… as close as you can get.”

They didn’t quite fit in and they connected with each other and through their mutual love of music. They were inseparable until Jake suddenly moved away and they hadn’t seen each other for 12 years.

“I never really fit in with any of the kids at school, neither did Jake. We were our own island, and when he left, I was left adrift for a long time.”

After being apart from her best friend and the first boy she ever loved, Tru Bennett has moved on, lives happily as a music journalist with her “lovely” boyfriend Will at her side and her BFF Simone. The magazine she works for then suddenly lands an interview with Jake from the uber-famous band, The Mighty Storm. Her boss, Vicky, says she has to do the interview the next morning.

Faced with seeing Jake for the first time in over a decade, Tru is beside herself, nerve-wracked and unsure if Jake even remembers her. As I was reading this and leading up to the interview I was so incredibly flustered! I mean, really!!! I was nervous, my heart raced, my body felt jittery! And truthfully, the whole book had me bursting with feeling the entire time. These characters are so sexy, strong, cool and REAL, that I felt what they felt until the very end.

“And seeing Jake, looking like this, I know that I am so completely and totally fucked. Because I’m now fourteen year-old Trudy all over again.”

Without divulging any spoilers, I’ll just say that Tru and Jake get to spend more time together. And yes, he’s that classic, arrogant, sexy-as-hell rock start that commands the room and all people around him. This boy gets what he wants.

“God, he’s such a cocky, arrogant bastard at times. And I totally fancy him. No I don’t. Yes I do. No. I. Don’t. Ah fuck.”

But I have to say, one of the other big reasons I freakin’ loved this book so much was because not only was Jake the alpha rock god we want him to be, he’s also incredibly passionate and sweet and caring and thoughtful… completely earning the title of swoontastic book boyfriend. Sigh.

Tru is so tempted. Jake and Tru reconnect so easily… it feels like old times, but now the air is continuously fraught with sexual desire and attraction, where every touch scorches and every gaze burns right through to the core.

“Horny Tru who wants in Jake’s pants.”

But everything is complicated. Not only because Dru has a boyfriend, but also because there’s insecurities, troubled pasts and strong personalities clashing together to muck and confuse it all.

Ahhh! I want more of this book now that it ended! It’s explosive, sexy, angsy, passionate and authentically romantic. Get.it.now. RIGHT.NOW! Because I know you’ll love Jake and Tru’s story.
