I’m a Fall and Winter girl, relishing in the moodier vibes, cooler temps, and layered clothing. And as a consummate fan of fashion, I love scoping out the Fall trends each year. Never a fan of fast fashion, however, I love to shop intentionally and invest in timeless pieces, so my picks within the trends below follow that approach. I happen to love the style right now and am so excited to extend my wardrobe with a few new pieces this year!
Here are my favorite trends for Fall/Winter 2022 —
And oversized button-downs too. Wear with shorts, trousers or jeans, style them with t-shirts, cropped camis, or anythinggggg. Roll up the sleeves, pair them with dad sneakers or loafers or chunky boots. Hailey Bieber rocks this look beautifully.
Here again with the blazers. But also oversized 90s bomber-style jackets. Wide-leg leather (or faux leather) trousers. Leather dresses, skirts, shirts, trenches… head to toe. A bit of an edge, even better. Here I would opt for the more timeless pieces… I picked up the blazer from Express below.
So many styles trending, from the preppy mini, to cargo mini and maxis, to my personal faves, satin and pleated. Pair with cozy sweaters or blazers, cropped button downs or with vests. Layer in athletic sneakers, chunky boots or loafers and you’re good to go. I love in particular, an elevated monochromatic sweater/skirt combo for Fall… so chic.
Prep with an edge. Dark academia for adults. Pleated trousers or skirts, vests, plaid minis, cropped button downs. Slouchy socks with loafers, mary janes, or oxfords.
Loafers are back on trend again and so here for it! Chunky, elegant, platform, lug sole, lace-up oxfords and Mary Janes, it’s all trending in a big way. Pair with slouchy socks when wearing skirts, jeans, shorts, whatever, and you’ll be walking in style. Hello again, 90s!
The Sambas are having a major resurgence, especially with celebs like Emma Chamberlain, Bella Hadid, Jennie Kim, Hailey Bieber and others, sporting them around town. The hard part, is finding them as they are out of stock everywhere. Dad sneakers are still very much in too, with New Balances in high demand across multiple styles.
Not everyone is a fan of this trend, but the right ballet flats can really elevate a look, plus, let’s be real… they can be hella comfy. This Fall, we’re seeing many wearing them with socks (not as big a fan of that look), but a simple flat with jeans and a sweater or button-down, is both comfy and sophisticated. The Miu Miu flats are all the rage (so gorg). And again, this year, it’s about more ballet, less traditional flat.
Hot pink. Bright pink. Barbiecore pink. We’re seeing it on runways. On celebs. As a monochromatic look or as a pop of color.
