Tried It: Marc Jacobs Shameless Foundation

Tried It: Marc Jacobs Shameless Foundation

So many of us were really excited about Marc Jacob’s new SHAMELESS YOUTHFUL-LOOK 24-HOUR foundation. It had big buzz at launch with its first-to-market claim of flashback-free SPF 25 formula. This means when you shoot with flash, you won’t look like a ghost. It’s a medium, buildable, 24-hour longwear foundation that promises a youthful, self-setting finish. 29 available shades and I used Medium R300 (light medium w/ toasted beige undertones).

As a fan of the RE(MARC)ABLE foundation and a near daily user of their COCONUT FACE PRIMER, I knew I’d be picking this up. The RE(MARC)ABLE is a heavier coverage formula and I prefer a lightweight, natural finish for regular wear, so this was a better fit for me. I definitely think this is on the light to medium part of the scale.

In short, I loved it. I love that it doesn’t feel cakey, that you can build up if you need to, but a once-over will have your skin looking more even and ready to go. It’s not drying either. In fact, it contains snow mushroom (which is known for its ability to hold water), plus blue daisy extract to alleviate the dulling effects of pollution.

I applied with a damp beauty blender, and note, it does dry quickly. I then set it with URBAN DECAY ALL NIGHTER SPRAY, I didn’t feel I needed to use powder.

Overall, I think if you love natural, lightweight coverage, this is definitely one to try… but if you love medium to high coverage, opt for theΒ RE(MARC)ABLE foundation.
