Review: Twisted Perfection (#1, Perfection) by Abbi Glines

My Thoughts

Sexy, captivating and highly addictive.
The chemistry between Woods and Della is scorching and the story is real and emotional. Possibly my favorite Abbi Glines book to date!

Synopsis

twisted perfection coverLife outside of her house was a new experience for Della Sloane. The dark secrets of her past weren’t something she ever intended to share with anyone. They would never understand. No one would ever get close enough to find out. There was always a chance she’d go crazy sooner than they expected…

Woods Kerrington had never been one to be attracted to fragile females. They seemed like too much work. He wasn’t in it for the work just the pleasure. A night full of naughty fun had been exactly what was on his mind when he’d laid eyes on the hot little number that didn’t know how to pump gas and needed some help.

What he didn’t know was she was as fragile as they came.
The carefree girl who spoke her mind and didn’t care what the world thought of her was more breakable than he could ever imagine…

My Review

Holy cow! Woods! Wow! I thought I knew Woods, but I didn’t. Favorite Abbi Glines book yet! This is a side of Abbi I hadn’t seen and I LOVED IT!

Twisted Perfection is a sexy and steamy story riddled with heartbreak and pain, love and desire. I devoured this book… I couldn’t put it down. I absolutely loved Woods. I loved him in Fallen Too Far and Never Too Far as well for how good he was to Blaire, but the depth and struggles Woods kept inside were surprising.

Della goes on a road trip to escape her past, to find herself and to LIVE. She meets a gorgeous guy at a gas station.

“He was one of those sexy, beautiful dangerous ones. I could tell by the smirk on his face.”

Immediately they are attracted to each other and Della agrees to go to dinner with him despite the fact she’s just passing through. The desire between them cannot be waned.

Their one-night stand is hot and passionate, but when Della wakes in the morning, Woods is gone. Della moves on and finds work in Dallas, but never really stops thinking about Woods. Four months later, a bad experience there prompts her to pack up and leave. A co-worker, Tripp, offers her his place by the beach to give her time to find herself. Tripp contacts a friend and finds her a job in that coastal town working for a country club. When she arrives, fate intercedes and she’s face-to-face with Woods again. The attraction is still there, want and desire palpable, but this time, she discovers Woods is about to be engaged. His family has arranged a marriage between him and Angelina–a girl from another wealthy family that would help solidify his place at the helm of the family business… something he’s always wanted. But the more Woods is around Della, the more he wants her, and the more she makes him question what it is he really wants.

“My future was about to be completely thrown off track because Della Sloane was under my skin and I had to have her.”

Della Sloane is a complex character. She’s honest and carefree, but she’s burdened by the unshakable terror of her past. Della desperately wants to feel safe and loved. And with Woods she feels those things. On the other hand, Woods is suddenly craving the freedom and love that Della offers him. For as long as he can remember, he’s been working to earn his place at the club, doing whatever his father asked, and now, he just can’t imagine that life for himself.

“Nothing my family wanted or demanded could make me walk away from this. From her.”

Della and Woods just can’t stay away from each other … and they can’t keep their hands off each other either. There’s a reason, I think, for all the sex in this book. It seems to me that their intimacy is a way to forget the bad stuff … the insecurities, the memories, the expectations … to be in the moment and just feel loved.

“I craved the orgasm I knew he could give me. That one moment when I couldn’t tell where I ended and he began. Bad memories weren’t there to haunt me during that nirvana. It was my one moment of relief.”

Della and Woods are perfect for each other. I absolutely loved them together! They are exactly what the other needs.

“I loved her. I loved her with something so fierce I couldn’t even name it.”

I couldn’t get enough of this story and when the book ended (be warned, it ends at 96%!) it felt too soon. My heart ached and raced with the pages of Twisted Perfection. Book 2 is Simple Perfection and I can’t wait to read more! ♥

“You are mine. Do you hear me? You are mine, Della Sloane. I will take care of you. Nothing is going to take you away from me.”
