Favorite Things October

Moody Floral Dresses

October is always one of my favorite months of the year. It feels like Fall is really here and we’re moving into the holiday season. I’m a girl of cooler weather. I feel most like myself in cozy oversized cardigans, boots, deep colors and winter textures, and so this is a great time of year.

Lately, I’ve been super into moody floral dresses, paired with my Docs or any chunky boots (or some sneaks!). Reminds me of my grunge days, when I fully embraced the look! 🙂 I’ve picked up a lot of dresses at Target (some are sadly already sold out), and splurged on this green number from Anthropologie. These are perfect for the not-quite-super-cold weather of Texas, but you can also add some tights and a denim jacket when temperatures drop.

New Makeup

I recently picked up Fenty’s Pro Filt’r Hydrating Foundation and I’ve been loving it. I didn’t love the original foundation, it was a little drying for me, but I love the look and feel of this one. It doesn’t feel cakey and my skin looks so smooth. I would say it’s medium coverage, and I typically just use a little bit.

I’m also a big fan of Laura Mercier’s tinted moisturizer and decided to give their new formula a go. I’ve been loving it too. It seems to sink into the skin better than the old formula and I’m all about that natural, effortless look. Plus, with an SPF of 30, you can’t go wrong.

Whether it’s the Fenty or LM I use, I always swipe on the Hourglass translucent powder which is my fave.

I’ve also been more heavily using Tatcha’s The Pearl to wake up my eyes. I just dot it with my fingers and my eyes look visibly brighter, while still very natural. Right now is a great time to stock up on all this stuff too, with Sephora’s Holiday Bonus Event!

Holiday Everything

I mean, of course right?! I’m starting to gather up some new holiday decor and this year, I’m all about whites, creams, blacks even, in cozy, super soft textures. I love vintagey looking items and touches of gold, making our Christmas decor look polished but warm, elegant but lived in. Here are some of the items I’ve picked up and have my eye on…

Stars Above

If you visit Target at any regular basis, you’ve probably already discovered and become obsessed with all things Stars Above. I live in this stuff, you guys. LIVE. So comfy. So soft. PJs? Lounge wear? Yes. Buy all the things, trust me!
