VBB Weekly – 05.26.2014

I am still grinning from the amazing time I had at RT Convention. Check out my recap of the week here! I also finally devoured the YA powerhouse series, If I Stay and Where She Went by Gayle Forman and I absolutely loved it! I cried through both books and I cannot wait to see the movie (coming this August)!!! I was able to sit in on a panel moderated by author Melissa Marr, where Gayle talked about the movie and also brought in special guest, actress Liana Liberato (who plays the heroine’s BFF). Must Read of the Week

Poison Princess by Kresley Cole Oh how I loved this book. This is the first installment of the YA Paranormal series, The Arcana Chronicles by Kresley Cole. The story centers around a girl trying to survive after a post-apocalyptic event, realizing she has powers she’s yet to understand. It’s an entirely fresh and well executed idea that is rooted in the Tarot Card concept. There’s suspense, angst and some really chilling parts that gave me goosebumps. There are three books in the series: Poison Princess, Endless Knight and Dead of Winter. The first two books are available now.
