To celebrate the cover re-launch of Naturally, Charlie, the recent release of
Good Vibrations and her attendance at Book Bash this weekend, I thought it was time to get to know S.L. Scott a little better! I asked her to share some interesting things about herself and here’s what she sent me!
————————————————————————
I once made it to the Hubba Bubba Bubblegum finals for biggest bubble when I was 7 years old.
My birthday was on 9/9/99. I celebrated in Vegas.
I was an Orientation Assistant for my university one summer and loved it.
I broke my arm skateboarding in the 4th grade. I might have yelled, โHey, watch this!โ beforehand. j/s
My dogs are named Maui and Tiki.
I went to Surf Divas surf camp for a weekend a few years ago in San Diego.
My momโs surfboard from when she surfed as a teenager hangs in my garage and is one of my most treasured possessions.
I have skydived before. I wouldnโt do it again.
A movie production company once rented my car from me to use as Jennifer Anistonโs in a movie. She drove it in the movie, but all those scenes were cut. Lol
Iโve been banned from entering Cakewalks at carnivals and fairs before because Iโve won them too many times as a kid.

Excerpt: Charlie Barrow
โSo what brings you to this part of town, Charlie?โ
He plays with the strawโs wrapper before wadding it between his fingers. When he looks up, he says, โYou do.โ He shrugs. โI missed you.โ
He always makes me smile, but I laugh lightly, too, because I like that he missed me. โYou missed me?โ
Leaning forward after looking around us, he whispers, โYeah, I missed you. Is that so strange?โ
No. Not strange at all. Iโd been thinking about him since we parted after dinner yesterday.
โWhat?โ he asks. โAre you laughing at me because I can admit I missed you?โ
โI think itโs great you can admit you missed someone, and I wasnโt laughing.โ I giggle.
โThat. That right there is laughing.โ
โNo, thatโs giggling.โ
โArenโt we too old to giggle?โ
โSpeak for yourself, old man,โ I tease.
He laughs now, but turns away when our number is called. Tapping the table once with his palm, he says, โIโll be right back.โ
I watch him as he walks toward the back of the small restaurant to claim our order, enjoying the view. Damn it! I look out the window when Iโm busted staring at his ass. When I look back, heโs gloatingโI mean smilingโall the way back.
I try to tamp the heat I feel that wants to redden my cheeks, giving my guilt away, but I think itโs too late.
โHere.โ He sets the food down in front of me. โEat and maybe that will distract us enough to not talk about the fact that I just caught you ogling my ass.โ
โI wasnโt ogling.โ I feign annoyance at the accusation, although I totally was ogling.
โYou were sooo ogling.โ
โI hate you, Charlie.โ I laugh, joking with him.
โYeah, I hate you, too.โ He teases with a smug smile set in place.
I seriously love our friendship.
